Building your first Tamiya kit.
When you first open your 1/10th scale RC Car box , you will see a large clear plastic body shell , this is ready to be painted using the Tamiya acrylic colours of your choice. You can follow the colours on the box to create your model or create your own custom paint job, this is a good idea when you are racing your model as you can instantly tell it apart from the other models on the track. You can put the shell to one side for the time being as this is the last part you will do to complete you RC car.
The other things you will notice in the box are all the Tamiya parts split into separate bags labelled A , B ,C etc , these letters relate to the building instructions you will find in the kit. It is a good idea to have some small containers to place these parts in and label accordingly.
It will also be beneficial to have some good quality tools to hand , A Philips screwdriver, some small pliers , tweezers and a sharp craft knife should get you started.
You should now read the manual from start to finish for an overview of how everything fits together and a rough idea of what parts you are building first. The Tamiya instructions are very good and very easy to follow, all the various screws are illustrated to size in the manual which makes it easy to match up the various components.
Your ready to start building !
